I know I have used Buck Brothers wood lathe turning chisels, skews, & gouges for three decades+... they have a 'buck head' symbol between 'Buck' and 'Bros'. I also know they started in MA ~150yr back. Were they ever related to our present-day BKCI? I know they, too, had a Charles Buck - ca 1877 - who split from the original brother. They made woodworking edged tools - chisels, plane irons, drawknives, even screwdivers. I remember seeing their woodcarving sets and firmer (bench) chisels, too. Just pondering...

wow what a thought ... natave americians makeing americian knives!

the question that i have is what was H.H. Bucks fathers name
and how he came to be in Kansas...
there in lies any possable connection...
{{ Joe can you ask Chuck what his great grand fathers name was?}}

There is an outstanding painter named Luke Buck. He does mainly water colors. He must not have been any good at making knives. I do own one of his originals.
