Any reviews on Spyderco Endura Wave?

My Endura wave had a lock failure from doing light duty wood chopping and stabbing. I can't remember what happened to the lock, but it was pretty bad. I sent it to spyderco and they replaced it with a brand new one, which has no issue yet. But i think the endura isn't made for this kind of things u know. Now, i reply on my Superleaf for outdoor stuffs.

I liked my Endura and delica waves WAY more than my Emerson commander and paid half as much for them. I would love to see a waved caly 3.5 someday.

i could get behind a waved caly 3.5. or a waved ffg e4, just anything spydie and waved that doesnt have that thick grinding of the endura. i know the delica has thinner bladestock and the same grind i would assume, but does it cut better than the e4 wave?

Does anyone have any close up pics of the handle of the new Endura Wave? Is it closer to Blue or Gray? Thanks.

Manix 2 g10 and translucent blue models are outstanding. They fit in hand great. The translucent blue may be my favorite spyderco.

If you chop with your Endura, you really only have yourself to blame IMO.

The wave hook on the Endura is deeper than on the Emersons and the Endura one is really failsafe, opening wise. The Manix has a wider blade, which is avvailable in a FFG, whereas the waved Endura has a relatively narrow, saber ground blade. It depends on what you desire. I really like my waved Endura. I don't own a Manix 2 of any size, but I do have a Full size Manix 1, which I also really, really like.

Yeah, there is absolutely a real, patented, and larger wave on Spydercos. There are all kinds of blade shapes suited to everything you'd need, you want something for defense that is great for your daily tasks and an easy profile to sharpen? Pick a Yojimbo or Yojumbo. Reverse-S if you want to go full-defense or you cut a lot of rope and twine. Their regular wharnies are great. The Police, the Military, the compression lock... and the steels?

I am not trying to knock Emerson, it's just, they seem like they have a niche, sort of like ZT or Medford, one thing they are really good at, and that is linerlocks, that have drop points, tantos, half-serrations, and such, basically they defined a lot of the modern tactical blades. I just don't know where I'd choose a 3.5" Emerson drop point over a 4" Yojumbo or a 5.5" Cold Steel Tanto Voyager XL, for starters. I'm not hating on Emerson so much as I am a Spyderco fanboy, ha.
EDIT: Juuuust now realized I resurrected a thread from 2012...
