i read the review on milspec monkey as well as checked out the video review from the pathfinder school on youtube.

was wondering if anyone here uses it for hiking,

how does it feel/handle with a full load?
can you really pack alot into this sucker?

cheers

JC

I LOVE IT.. I really pack that sucker and I would suggest getting an extra strap to have it having from your shoulder on top of around the waste.
The rubberized waste band holds it well, but if you have a beer gut like me, it will probably hang below your ass LOL

Overall 9.5/10

All the compartments are of nice size, and the 2 side ones can easily fit a mil canteen.

no beer gut here,

but i do like the looks of it. thanks dude.

anyone else with experience? i have a proteus but it feels like it pulls down my pants while walking,

does the sabercat have that same feel?

i have a sabercat, haven't used it enough to give a valid review, the limited times i have used it it has done well, I had it packed with Spring. XD 9mm and various other items, and also a specps sheath with SY SCRAPPER 6.

I have one, but it's not used for hiking.
It's attatched to the back of a Monsoon, the waist strap holds onto the larger pack as well as using Malice clips.
I keep my camera (Canon S3IS) and accessories in the Sabercat, and just about everything else I can think of in the Monsoon and other various packs atattched all over (I call it the "Bat Pack").

If you just want something to organize camera gear and the like, I think it would work very well. Though I have no idea how well it rides on the hip.

was looking for a day hike kinda bag to use, i wanted to give buttpacks another shot after the proteus.

man, Im in the same spot.

Ive been looking for two separate cases, one that stands out is the Remora gearslinger and then either the milspec monkey pouch, or the admin triad pouch, all from maxpedidtion. I need something for a firstaid kit, tarp and cooking stuff to go in the slinger, and then my belt Ill have my GPS,multitool and light.

Also, fenixtactical.com carry all the good stuff from maxpedition, they are a canadaian site as well.

Good luck, when you find something, you should e-mail me what you got, If I dont see it in this thread.

leaning towards the sabercat--looks good for holding my over night gear even.

but i wanna go see it in person first, hoping that daves has it handy.

I watched the Wilderness Outfitters review a while back and realized after I came back from vacation how much I needed one. I was using one of the CTD Molle Deployment bags to hold my video camera and it wasn't big enough for everything I needed to take with me.

Right now I'm waiting to see it in person. I'm hoping the Brigade Quartermasters storefront will get some in stock. Right now they only drop ship. (3 weeks ago when I checked.) That is the only place I know of local to Atlanta that even has any Maxpedition gear.
