Any small folder better than a Bradley Alias II for $150-$175

Ok, so I handled some hinderers the other day and the guy told me that they were the 3" blade versions but the blade was way bigger than 3", he said it was because the measure the cutting edge at 3". I feel like he was bullshitting me. Is the whole blade 3" or just the edge on those?

He was BSing you. The 3" is from scale to tip, and it is small, same size as a mini-grip or small sebenza basically. He was trying to sell you a 3.5" I bet, a much larger knife. Here is my 3" Hinderer with Yellow scale next to a min-Barrage, small Sebenza, and some William Henry's:

Yeah, that's what I figured. I didn't buy one. I really have a hard time trusting people these days. That's so shitty that people are like that. It's illegal to carry anything that big in my area. That and there is no way I'm gonna carry a big ass knife like that anyway.

I have however, been gawking at the 3" hinderers for years now. Thems is purdy knives. Too bad they cost so damn much.

Dang buddy, you have some heavy hitters there...as far as price point is concerned.

Lol, that a good point. I wish I had some money to burn like that. Oh, by the way....love the avatar, I just realized what your member name was. I'm a fellow scifi nerd myself. I just saw the new startrek movie the other day, great stuff!

They (the 3" version) are expensive and not too common on the exchange, so they go for around $700. I personally think my XM-18 is worth every penny; I also owned a 3.5" but sold it because it was too big to EDC. But the mini-Grip (in a previous picture) and small Sebenza is right with the Hinderer in terms of quality, although the XM-18 is the toughest knife I own.

I used to have a Pardue designed mini grip but gave it to a friend of mine when he lost his a few years ago. He'd given me a few knives over the years so i owed him. I used to EDC a Bradley Alias 2 but am trying to either sell or trade it off at the moment. My out of office EDC right now is a Lone Wolf Swale. I love that knife, i have an affinity for natural material handles. I do a bit of bone carving and ceramic sculpture from time to time so I am partial to artisan looking blades. The swale is a tough sucker too. My office is a Buck vantage pro 2 5/8" version, but with the dymondwood handles. they are pretty damn good knives also.

I'd like to see a photo of your Buck Vantage Pro sometime.

Me and my wife love American Horror and Star Trek. We just recently went to go see the Glass Menagerie on Broadway. Zach Quinto was great in it!

I'm keeping the little Buck in my pocket (also 440C) and the Trapper stays in my knapsack. The combination works great for office people like me.

I see that its hard for you guys too. I'm just very utilitarian. I like to use all my knives. Some of the more expensive ones like CRK and Hinderer. I really don't think they cut better. They're so darn good looking though. Just makes you want one just to have. Lol.

I was thinking Spyderco Chaparral. I do agree with you that finding a knife you absolutely love does not cure the knife addiction. There will always be more knives to try that usually you will end up liking better, many times that can mean the price range has to get larger.

I have that same Small buck knife. I found mine in the woods when I was hiking, it was stuck in a tree. Lucky find. I've had it since I was 12 years old.

On the subject of the Drifter....I had one of those and it was really a great knife as well, I would have liked a different pocket clip though, one that was tip up and didnt know as much knife out of the pocket.
