Any speculation on a Rat D2 being released again?

I'm looking to hook a friend up with a D2 Rat before he ships out. I'm not too concerned about the handle material, but was really hoping for that higher grade blade (honestly, more for my concern than his).

He doesn't leave for another month or so, but I've yet to find anything online. Has anyone heard about Ontario releasing another batch of upgraded Rat 1's? Or am I out of luck (I've check the exchange as well).

I know there are other knives as well as the AUS 8 version, just sorta had my hopes up once I read about the D2 Rat.
 
I think the D2 is a Knifeworks exclusive. Have you tried checking with them?

That's awesome to hear. I've been hoping for another run, i missed out on the other as well. Will definitely be picking one up.
