Any suggestions? creating a collection of best $50 edc

At this price point (and given all of your criteria), I've enjoyed the QSP Penguin, CIVIVI Exarch (or Chronic, if you don't like front flippers), Ruike Fang, and Real Steel Metamorph (KnifeCenter has them for $40 right now).

You might also peek at the CJRB Kicker, which sneaks a rather unique locking mechanism into your collection.
KnifeCenter had free shipping on all orders regardless of amount all weekend . I picked a some shaving shaving soap since the shipping would have normally been half what the soap cost.

New addition to my collection

Spyderco Bryrd Raven2 $60

Starting a new collection….need 6 knives….Theme….My Personal choice ….Best EDC Folder/Flipper for around $50 bucks

Criteria, must have blade 3” or over,
D2 or better steel…NO 8cr13 or Aus8 ( not bad mouthing these steels, just want some variation)
Cannot be made in USA ,,,but can be a USA Brand ( this is for my Foreign made knife collection)
Folder or Flipper ( no pocket knives or Traditionals)
No repeats of same brand ( so no civivi or Ontario)

Have 2 already

Civivi Praxis
Ontario Ultiltrac

open to recommendations
Are you the guy who always buys 6 knives with themes? Or is that someone else and you are just starting off doing the same thing?

A lot of great things coming out of civivi right now you could probably buy over a dozen knives from them alone but since you already have the Praxis.... how about the often looked over Kabar Dozier in D2? Great hollow grind on it and a very useful blade shape. The scales are nothing to write home about of course but you can find these on sale for under 30$ sometimes and it really is a pretty good value as a pure cutting tool.

Ruike with "Beta Lock " , overlooked too often in the vast ocean of liner locks .

It's average sized , just looks small here:

Pretty much any of the Civivi or Sencut knives from WE qualify. Their fit and finish at the $40-60 range is incredible. While 9Cr18Mov is already a substantial step up from 8Cr13Mov, WE has perfected the heat treatment. I sent my Civivi Naja in for testing. It was 60HRC on the dot. Edge retention versus cardboard at 15dps was better than any of the budget D2 coming out of China and closer to mass-production knives in S35VN.

Ruike has a bunch of affordably priced knives in 14C28N but I don't have much experience with them. Definitely check out Petrified Fish. They do a lot with D2 and do one of the better heat treatments for Chinese D2. I really like their PF719 in 12C27, which combines drop-shut action with classy wood scales (but lacks a pocket clip).

Here are two other knives I can recommend from extensive personal experience:

Harnds Talisman - 14C28N, great ergonomics, drop-shut action right out of the box, under $50
Tangram Santa Fe - Acuto 440, thin slicey blade, and made by Kizer; it's still one of the best bangs for the buck at around $25

BTW, here is the Sencut Snap. I just got this model but haven't put much use on it yet. It might be my favorite budget knife of the year so far...

Bestech Komodo flipper. 3.35” D2 blade, liner lock, made in China. $52 at most online retailers. Very solid feeling knife, with nice grippy handles. One of my more surprising cheapskate buys.

Oh, oops … just realized this thread is well over a year old.
