I want to get a neck knife for 20 dollars max is 24 dollars
any suggestions I see crkt and coldsteel have some cool stuff but I want a user not a tactical neck knife
so the cold steel knives are limited crkt minimalists look good and boker has some cool stuff
i really like the silent solider it is "cool"
maybe i should wait for SOGs version to come out

if its 35 dollars and under you can still suggest it

I don't really like painted blades

dont really want something bigger than 3 inches

For your price range, CRKT Minimalist all day IMO.

However, if I were you I'd save up for an ESEE Candiru or Izula.

Boker seems to be at the front as far as small fixed blades right now. The Gnome, Rhino, and Rhino Calf, as well as their Mosier design and some work by Chad Los Banos make them the leader for variety.

You may also find something you like by searching Meyerco's site. They're done some renditions of Dirk Pinkerton's small knives, but I don't know about prices.

I'm a fan of the CRKT Dogfish, if you can find one. It's an older design, and may not be available from CRKT, but there should be some of them out there. It ought to meet your requirements, but, be aware that it is very small, and you only get about one inch of blade. On the other hand, it carries very light, and the pommel is a functional bottle opener. For some, knife plus cap lifter is the only multitool they need.

Wow I completely forgot about all of Boker's smaller offerings. +1 on Shorttime's recommendation.

Remember that you get what you pay for.

Perhaps you should just wait and save until you can afford something nicer.

If you want a knife that can acomplish almost any daily task, get a CRKT Minimalist Wharncliffe. If you need a neck knife for survival-type applications, save up and get an Izula.

A.G. Russell Woodswalker. Mine has skinned and cleaned deer, hogs, sheep, and ducks. It also works on apples and envelopes with equal aplomb. Nice little AUS8 blade, weighs 1.2 oz. and you can get it with a kydex neck sheath for $27.95. I have mine on as I type.

It is a very "friendly" knife for being around non-knife people.
