Ah, yes. The Irish are renowned for their knife-making... no, no actually I don't think they are. I'm sure someone thinks it's special, though; I'm just unenlightened when it comes to these charming, old-timey nail-busters.

Imperial knives were made in Ireland for an era from after the Rhode Island factory closed until the Irish factory closed and production was moved to China (this was just before the Imperial-Schrade bankruptcy in 2004). The Irish Imperial quality on average was rather poor, but I am unaware of any propensity towards having strong springs or being "nail busters."

Admitting to my own ignorance, that's about my extent of Irish cutlery knowledge. :(
 
Okay users, but nothing collectible (that I know of.) I've got a few American-made Imperials, and they're some of my favorites because of the steel in them. The Irish-made are a little lower on the material and build quality scale, but they're serviceable.
