I was thinking about that too, but peeps can be touchy about their blades, so i didnt want to say anything... :rolleyes:

If you can't replace it with a RC, then consider a Blackjack Grunt, or something like that. (I hate guthook blades).
 
I like the Winchester, it was one of my first fixed blades and it was my first hunting knife, I figured the gut hook would be helpful if I got lucky with a figure four or a snare. But it will probably be replaced, I would just hate to see a knife with sentimental value turn into a safe queen. :D oh well it can still come with me hunting.
 
I actually have a question for you, I know that you said the maxpedition pack that you used fit all of your gear with room to spare, but I have been seriously considering purchasing one for the same function as yours and was wondering if you would recommend maybe a size up? oops sorry wrong thread!
