I probably wouldn't wear a respirator with hand wet sanding. The water will keep the dust in slurry for the most part. If you're worried, a simple little dust mask will work for hand sanding. But still need the respirator for powered work.
Another tip,get a piece of auto heater hose,split down the middle,tear off a piece of coarse cheap sandpaper.Then put one end in the split and wrap the rest around the hose,works great for finish work,finger grooves,etc.Regards Butch
