So yeah is there any trick when assembling the sebenza to not get pinched washers? Cause every time i assemble mine i always get pinched washers and i have to retry like 3-5 times and gets really annoying and no i am not new to sebenzas lol. plus I've tried assembling is CRK way and couple other ways and no luck.

Assemble the handles first. Part A.

Assemble the blade, bushing and washers. Part B.

Slide part A into Part B. This will work perfectly and has been the recommended method on CRK website before the updates.

In this video the correct method is used.

Already done this lol

In my mind there are 2 reasons for messing up a washer. First, when cleaning the washers with a napkin, be careful to handle them gently. If you get one caught in the paper towel, and are trying to rub them clean, you can easily bend one a bit enough to nake it not perfectly flat anymore.
Second, when pulling out the blade from the handle, keep pressure on the lock bar so it doesn't slam shut when the blade is removed. Same when putting it back in, make sure you keep the lock bar off the blade until it's in place.

Also check all washers and bushings to make sure you didn't mix any up.
The smaller washer goes on the lock side I believe, that could be it. Or, you may have mixed up the pivot bushing with the blade stop bushing. That seems to be pretty common.

Hope this helps.

I've just used the sandwich method for the last couple of takedowns/reassembly's. If done correctly it should eliminate any chance of catching a washer and I also feel it's easier to get the grease exactly where you want it when going the sandwich route.

yeah that is not my problem maybe the bushing is too short but even if its short i have sanded the washers down and that seems to work but still if i don't get the washers and bushings 200% perfect the i get pinched washers. so yeah ether way the knife is at CRK if there is any problem with it they should fix it.

You shouldn't sand the washers. Or the bushing. Ever.

If you are assembling the handles first, then putting the blade/bushing/washers in, there is NO way to get a pinched washer.

Even before i sanded them down i had the same problem. TBH sanding them down maid it smoother and better but i still get pinched washers.

It will feel "smoother" because you are introducing horizontal play to the mechanism.

Again, there is no possible way to pinch a washer if you assemble the handle first, then insert the blade/bushing/washers. Something else is going on.

Nope the lock up is rock solid

I think you've misunderstood, Tripton means side to side play(horizontal play) that has to be introduced, whether you can detect it or not, from removing material no mater how small from the washers, this has nothing to do with lock up.

If you are fully assembling your knife before sliding in your blade+washer+bushing assembly and still getting a pinched washer (to be clear, a pinched washer is one that gets caught between the bushing and handle slab and will cause a gap between blade and washer) and can't see the obvious reason why then you definitely need to send it in to CRK, there is quite simply a problem. If, as you say the bushing is too short, it will be quite obvious, when the knife is assembled correctly and pivot screw is tightened down fully your blade will either not open or be very very stiff. In this case it will need new washers and bushing and more than likely will be at your expense.

It the knife tight to open after reassembly? Is this why you think a washer is pinched?? I can tell you that my large insingo was so tight when new that I had to loosen the pivot to open it one handed. It took awhile to break in and now it is smooth.

Are you cranking the pivot down tight and experiencing a tight pivot? That you junk is a pinched washer??

As stated above, a pinched washer is one that gets caught between the pivot bushing and scale, leaving a gap.

Please specify

Yeah i understand what he's talking about and the way i detect side to side play is by grabbing the knife by the tip and moving is side to side very hard. and there is none.

yeah I'm talking about when i assemble the knife by sliding the blade into the handle and cranking the pivot screw down and the blade becomes very stiff then once i disassemble is and assemble it with it being 100% correct i can crank the pivot screw down hard without any play and stiffness.

Plus it has happened to me with my first sebenza i thought something was wrong with it. Plus i have disassembled it before and put it back together and cranked the pivot screw down and it was perfect. But when i did it the second time it was stiff i sent it in and got it back and it was like new. so yeah
