Anticipation is a mixed thing. You want it but it's also fun looking forward to something. Has anyone heard anything lately?
I wouldn't mind waiting a little longer for a kydex sheath to be made...

The blades are going into heat treat today. Everything is right on schedule. It will be a week or so before we know about the sheath or pocket clip.

Thanks for the updated post Bob. Try to keep us informed as things wind down.

I talked to Bob today, and everything is right on schedule, they should begin arriving to us in just over a week or so.

Hey, I've got an idea! Let's keep the final configuration of clip/sheath totally secret! Then each person will have the excitement of seeing which it is, when their Sifu arrives!

Sounds good to me!

Maybe some will have a clip, and some will have a sheath, and some will have both or neither!

Hey, and maybe some of them will be different colors and "handed" than was originally ordered! Matter of fact, some people may find a Blue Native instead of a Sifu! Or maybe an Eagle Brand Spyderco ripoff!

The possibilities are endless!

Thanks Ewok, I needed that bit of levity

Well, my wife saw the charge for my Sifu on the statement the other day and hit the roof.

But I had an ace up my sleeve.

I reminded her she never bought me an aniversary present this year. I'd been holding on to that "card" since April, but to get my Sifu, it was time to use it. I can't wait 'till it gets here.

Is it too late to change my order to a left handed blue/yellow model with both a clip and a sheath, serial #OU812?
smile.gif

If not, I'll be happy with whatever I ordered, since my wife's already balled (bawled?) me out for it.
heh heh... that can be taken two ways, depending on if she was angry or not, can't it.
Well, she was angry.

In any event, thanks for the update, I'm really looking forward to receiving the pair I ordered!

That's my two cents. Hey! How come you're giving me change?

One can still hear the chant in the backround...listen closely...

"Pocket clip...pocket clip...pocket clip..."

See?

The blades are now in heat treat then they will get finished, engraved then we will pit them togeher. When I get a actual working model in my hand I will decide if and where a clip will go. It will have to be safe and secure. As far as colors and custom numbers we have green and black and the handles have already been in the system for a while. Custom engraving is out I don't think our laser will be on line in time for us to do that and I don't wnat to get into that.
Would you like the name "Sifu" on the logo patent number side of the blade?

Sure, why not, if you aren't going to incur any additional cost, I'd say go for it.

Plus, when pictures of it get out, it'd be nice for people to be able to ask for it by name instead of "What's that there funny looking knife by that company that stole CBS's logo and has too many finger grooves there on it? I want one of those!"

Maybe "SIFU - 1st Run" or something.

Ditto Spark.

Also, Bob, you make the call on the clip issue.
I think even if it had a clip and you wanted a sheath (kydex break front...hint, hint) you could make one around the clip or even remove it.
Can't wait to get it.
Thanks.

Bob,

Can you send Spark a green, right-handed piece with no pocket clip at all? I've got an SOB sheath setup in mind for it.

Thanks,

Harv

Personally, I think "less is more".
If it were up to me, I'd opt for the serial number and manufacturer only.
Seems that most other makers don't care if the model name is designated, and lack of an easy means of identification would be more of a conversational point when the knife is displayed.

That's my two cents. Hey! How come you're giving me change?

Less is more all the way. Any idiot who confuses Bob's work with that of normal mortals can't be helped by longer labels.
