Im just curious. For me, it seems like that many people who collect knives also like watches. So how many of you are watch collectors? Feel free to post pics of your collection

I do, no pictures at the moment ...but yes, I agree - it seems the hobbies transcend.

Not a collector (yet?), but here's shots of my two watches:

I hope I get an Orient blue Mako soon!

I'm a beginner in the watch world, so i dont have much of anything exotic.......that also might have something to do with me being on a college kid budget! haha

but here's my modest collection....

A swiss legend, two fossils, a G-shock, and a automatic louis bolle there in the back (much more handsome in person)

shouldnt you start out with a pic of your own too?

I'm not exactly a collector, but I do admire watches. My "fancy" watch is a Citizen Eco-drive Calibre 8700.

I'd like to get a good but not too expensive auto. I saw an Orient that I liked - are those any good?

I seem to have accidentally started collecting watches. :foot:

I have a few Luminoxes and Tags as well as a Marathon and Breitling. I have started to sell
off the quartz watches in favour of the autos though so the numbers are going down.

I don't call myself a watch collector, but I'm definitively a watch enthusiast.
I have 17 now, but I don't think I'll ever have more then 20.

I don't consider myself a watch collector, I don't build up a collection. But I am certainly a watch enthousiast and buy a watch every now and then. Mostly mechanical watches and Casio G-Shocks. I think I have about 20 watches now, of which most are under 100 euro (141 USD).

Xing, what a great thought - I collect knives, guns and watches, but never thought about the watches till now. Now out of town, but will post when I return.

Foilist - Orients are excellent watches. They were bought by Seiko a few years back, but I believe that Seiko learnt more from Orient in manufacturing mechanical watches than the other way round. Good solid timepiece.

I think they're awesome for the money! I'm waiting on a blue mako (CEM65002D) myself - my first Orient:

I'll second the Mako!
Great watch for a very decent price. The other option I think would be the Seiko Monster, for basically the same amount as the Mako, but I guess I'm one of the few human beings on planet Earth that doesn't like the looks of the watch . Aesthetics not withstanding, I have to say the Monster is more of a tool watch then the Mako - if you actually plan on diving with the watch, go with the Monster.

Defaultuser, Not a collector yet either but you and I are of the same preference!!

I have a Casio Pathfinder and a Seiko Velatura Chrono (very similar to your dive watch)!! I love both!!!

But would love more im sure!! lOL

Just a Sea Dweller. Only watch I own.

I'm definitely a watch 'nut' though I don't think I'm a watch collector. I've owned watches from Poljot, Seiko, Rolex, Omega, Panerai and Blancpain to name a few. I've actually reduced the number I have over the last couple of years as I wasn't wearing many of them.

This is one of my favorites...it's a 1960s vintage in 14k.

I'm with you on the Monster style; I never warmed up to the look if it...same with pretty much all-metal bezels watches (even the few Omegas and Sinns).

Yeah, that's my problem with it: the bezel. It looks so boring and as if it was from another watch but got stuck on that case by mistake.
