any women collectors here!

i quit collecting women once i got married, my wife however really wants a WILLIAM HENRY, guess she needs to start saving! haha!

My daughters have all the steel they can handle ... and maybe a little bit more. :D

Did TJ post? We mustn't forget the ineluctable Totally Judy!!

My daughter is 19 and rapidly becoming a knife nut. First was a rainbow leek, then my mini socom now its my micra. I'll have to keep my customs locked up. LOL

We might be surprised at how many women are BF members, since many members use names that are vague or cryptic with regards to gender. And I suspect many women, if really present, prefer to remain gender-anonymous.

Yeah I believe that as well. For the ones who are openly female, there is always someone who has to start flirting with them, when really the female just wants to talk about knives like everyone else. That likely keeps a lot "in the closet".

On The JD, I give them names in coloUr and their own hidden area to be women, ladies, girls and "one of the gang".

My daughter (turns 17 this month) loves to look at knives with me, whether it be on this forum, one of our favorite interweb dealers, or especially when we're passing thru NE TN and make the annual stop at SMKW. She's a slippie fan who tends to like the smaller patterns such as peanuts. She has a tidy collection of Case, Queen and a few others. Wifee likes knives also. She carries a MOP & Abolone Kiwi and a small custom pocket fixed blade I picked up from one of our member-makers. Just ordered her a folding kitchen hocho from AGR last night. She has her eyes on one of AGR's kitchen sets....I'm saving my pennies for that purchase. Both wife and daughter look at AGR's catalogs from cover to cover when they come in and often point out knives that interest them.

I'm 20 and my Dad always was doting on me when I was a little girl and taking me with him on long hikes. He always carried a knife and at least a pistol with us. So I was never repulsed by these like so many girls (and more and more boys) instead I was fascinated and saw them as useful.

This thread is two years old, so that makes you 22 now, right? That's a hell of a Spyderco collection for someone so young! When I was 22 I probably only owned three decent knives, and two of those were gifts!

My daughter Kim has a rather impressive Busse collection, as well as several other makers and manufacturers. Her daily carry at present is a Camillus Heat.

She cruises around in her wheelchair at Blade and has a wonderful time.

I'll be 22 in June. My Dad let me have a few of the older Spydercos I own, when he noticed that was what I was starting to collect. I now have a few more than my signature line will accept! Even though I've tried to condense it.

I wouldn't call two of my ex-gfs collectors, but they did appreciate them and buy some nice stuff. Two gfs ago had a green mini grip tanto and a benchmite, and three gfs ago had the exact same (weirdly enough--I have no idea why) minigrip tanto, a scallion and a ms army knife...and a jaguar bali and a bottle opener bali.

My current girlfriend appreciates the art a little, but I don't think is very interested.

I would love to hear how your mom got you started using and carrying knives. I hang out in the Traditional Subforum and have heard numerous stories regarding "dad's or grandad's pocketknife". But, never Mom's.
My Mom used to take me camping & fishing, and that is how I learned to use a knife. My Mom taught me that it was an important tool to have & use. I have been hooked ever since. I have also carried a knife for 35 years.
