Any word on EK Ka Bars?

That #5 bowie Moose posted with a real set of scales... mmmm

Never cared much for the scales. They made the knife feel.....clunky. Now some paracord wrap......thats commando there........

:D

The Ek #5 Bowie and the Marbles Ideal 7 were two very iconic knives from my childhood. I'll never own a Marbles Ideal 7.....they are gone. But the Ek's will be soon making waves again....

Moose, no one needs to hear about you going commando. :D

Is that why they say don't look up Moose's kilt?

That reminds me of an old marbles that I found at an antique store a year back. I wonder if he would go fifty on it now that it has been so long..

Always loved the look of the special edition M4 and M5s with the removable threaded brass screws and the very fine checkered wood grips. I think they were called gunstock grips. I have pics of them somewhere in an old Cutlery Shoppe catalog. That would be Blackjack era EK though, don't know if they offered that variant before or after the Blackjack years. I have a Blackjack EK dive knife which to be honest is not the most ergonomic or useful of the EK designs. I would definitely be interested in Ka-bar M4 and M5 though, preferably not in D2 if possible.

I suddenly feel ill just thinking of the possibility of an outsourced oriental made economically priced range ek in 420j stainless steel.

There used to be tonnes of EK knockoffs floating around, United Cutlery etc. Haven't seen many recently though.

That IS sheer horror! Must be what Colonel Kurtz was talkin' about! I hope Ka-Bar doesn't do anything cheap and under-handed to disrespect the memory of Ek Knives. I'm disgusted that I didn't get around to buying a _real_ Ek before they stopped making them. I was getting close, probably would have pulled the trigger on one when I got my tax refund back this year if any would have been available for a fair price. If Ka-Bar makes an amazing one I'll buy it. I like my BK2 well enough. Wish they'd release some info about the project, throw us a bone!

EDIT: I did have an EK Desert Dagger with wood scales that I bought at Harrys Army Surplus in Dearborn, MI for $70 for many years but I gave it away. I can only hope the kid I gave it to appreciated it as much as I did. I meant that I am disgusted I never got around to buying the Ek Bowie I always wanted in 440C for about $275. I don't know if any Ka-Bar made Ek could ever really make me happy, I think I'm gonna need the real deal when it comes to Ek. I've never been really happy with my Blackjack made knock-off of a Randall.

I think KA-BAR has shown that they will do justice to this brand too. The last thing I'm worried about is them stepping in it when they launch the EK.

I'm hoping to see some protos at Blade -- but not holding my breath about it.

I almost picked up a EK way back when. Wish I had. I am looking forward to some KaBar / EK action.

Oh. I dunno...
I was so impressed with the seriousness of their tone as seen in the productline video.

One could almost want to believe what was said.
And now i m wondering if the mossad seriously wants to be associated with this killer of a product. :-)
I know ka-bar is kosher will wait and see.if the ka-bar ek turns out solid.
Unlike the "hole-ee" one.
