Any words on the Tarwars?

As promised, here is my reviews for the two Tarwars I have received. They are blunt and wicked to wield. And heavy, not uncomfortably so but you know its there.

Presently, I have a horn handled, dragon carved model and a villager model. The dragon carved model has a beautifully engraved dragon figure extending almost completely down one side. However, there is a considerable amount of brazing or "Himalayan epoxy" where the guard meets the blade. Additionally, the horn handle has an about three inch surface crack that may have occurred due to shipping (shipping boxed showed crush damage on both ends). The sheaths are well made although the tip brass caps could use a bit better or more closely moulded brass cap.

The Villager model is a plain Tarwar with a clean wood handle. There was a small amount of surface rust/pitting at the tip but that can be easily cleaned. Same degree of brazing. The sheath was the same.

One odd thing about the villager however: when held, it just sang. Extra blessing on that blade I guess. If I had to choose between the two, the Villager would take a slight lead.

Anyway, pictures as promised:

Forgot to mention that I let Yangdu know about the box and the handle crack. She has generously sent me a boomerang knife for my troubles! Wow! Doesn't appear to be her fault but well done Auntie!

Had some free time this morning and did some work with and closely inspected the Tarwars. The villager is by far the rougher, less finished of the two. However, it is my favorite of the two.

It's a monster but still balanced well and swung with ease. Hell on a mat and cardboard tube. Thrust pretty good for the design. I'd expect it would do some wicked damage if employed. Speaking of which, I had a wicked, evil grin on my face after all was done.

Wonder if I can somehow sneak it on to the duty belt for the next dress uniform inspection? Wonder what the chief will say?

Great pictures and review, thank you
