My Reply....

I wish!!!!!!!!!!!1... just been cutting up a old sofa with a Seal... jeez did it make light work of it.

I like the NW Ranger. It was the first SOG blade I bought. Field Pup may be easier to make less noticeable. I just received a Spyderco Moran model yesterday that I am experimenting with. (Sorry, it is not a SOG.) I think Bob Dozier Sheath A would work better, but I am playing with this Moran model. It is pretty adjustable. Still not concealed, but not noticeble with jacket or shirt that hangs down (un-tucked). I wanted something (non-custom) that I don't feel bad if it gets scratched, but still fills the bill. Razor sharp out of the box.

Fixed blade EDC's can be a legal problem. Police here frequently view them as being carried for defensive/offensive purposes only unlike a fixed blade that you would carry out in the woods or on a hike. Out of sight is usually out of mind.

heh heh sounds like fun to me , maverick. openly carrying a fixed blade in public gets you in trouble , but concealing it gets you in even more trouble .
i have the spyderco moran fb01 , beautiful knife.

In KY, I can carry any type of knife with my CCDW liscense, and I generally carry a folder and a fixed blade every day. Usually carry a Microtech Mini SOCOM Elite auto or an SOG Pentagon Elite for the folder and a CRKT Hissatsu or an SOG Pentagon for the fixed blade. I also have an SOG Mini Tsunami that I used to carry quite a bit.

I have a Damascas steel 110 that I am partial to. Haven't seen it in a while. Maybe time to dig it out and take a look.

Don Fogg wrote a nice intro article on just that.

"Getting the pattern in" is part of what makes damascus steel so addictive for some smiths. ;)

Forgot to reply to the original question. The Pentagon is a favorite EDC choice and has been since the days they came with the high-quality leather boot-clip sheath. In fact, you just gave me an idea...
