Anybody EDC just an SAK or multi-tool?

I haven't carried any non-multitool knife for years until the last couple of months. I used to live in Georgia where carrying any knife "for offensive or defensive purposes" is illegal. IMHO the most legally safe way in Georgia is by carrying a multitool, because I can very easily argue that it's, well, a tool. More precisely, a collection of tools built around a pair of pliers. I carried LM Juice S2, then LM Wave, and they were perfectly adequate for my daily tasks.

Now that I'm in Indiana where the law is more reasonable, I'm beginning to carry a separate folding knife again. I still carry a very small multitool (LM Squirt P4) along with the folder, though.

Welcome to the Hoosier State:D I've actually had police officer customers of mine comment on how nice of a knife I was carrying, whether it be a Spyderco, Kershaw, or Himalayan Import fixed blade:thumbup:

My EDC has been a larger lock-bladed Vic Adventurer model for about the last 20 years. Before that I carried an SAK and a lockblade knife. The Adventurer is only two spring-channels thick and has all my most frequently used tools. It is also very light.

Thanks, Indiana law is indeed pretty knife-friendly, despite the usual BS about dirk, dagger, switchblade, etc. I don't know about municipal laws though, I probably need to learn them.

But since I visit Chicago from time to time, I still need to be careful. As a matter of fact, I'm seriously considering a Skeletool CX right about now. :D A Skeletool paired with a Vic Pioneer will cover my urban needs just fine.

For a couple of years I carried a SAK Centurion, which is a SAK Adventurer in black scales. :D

Lately, I have only been carrying my super tinker. (More PC in the Seattle area where I live)

However, last weekend I was assembling some cardboard boxes and had to cut a lot of packing tape and also carried my spyderco. I was still carrying my SAK though. It's lighter than my Leatherman and has almost just as many tools. When I really need a set of pliers, I usually holster my Craftsman's instead.

When I was in the Army, I used to EDC just a Fieldmaster. In the field, I'd toss a Buck Special in my pack.

When I was a full time computer tech, I'd EDC just a LM Wave, sometimes with a small folder.

Nowadays, I just carry a BM Mini Griptilian, but I'm thinking of adding in a SAK or multi-tool. I just haven't decided on which one. For hiking, I toss in both. (Currently a Blast I got on the cheap, and a Hiker.)

The only knife that's guaranteed to be on me nearly 100% of the time is my BCB credit card multitool. I got an explorer for some office work and I have been carrying it more and more frequently since. For more labor intensive work I take a multiplier and locking folder.

Belt worn Leatherman Supertool, Micra, Victorinox Swiss Champ and Fenix P3D with 2 spare batteries.

It works for me!

Today (and many days) it's just a Vic Spirit. Unless I anticipate activities involving some frequent cutting, it's fine on its own.

I pretty much only EDC a Vic Soldier in my free time. I use various utility knives or chisels when I get to work though.

My edc during the week is a leatherman kick and i just recently got a pocket clip for it and now i enjoy carrying it even more.

Howdy all, I'm new here but really in to SAKs. Currently carrying either my new first mate alox knife or a hiker. It changes often and also includes a rambler in my keys usually.

The last month I pretty much came to the smae conclusion. One knife is all I'm really using and bolstered with the ability to mulittask the SAK became the winner.

Does a Case Trapper conseider as a multitools :p It has two blades :D
I can't decide what to carry - Vic Soldier,Case Trapper or Buck 110 - I love them all...

I have my Surge on my belt everywhere I go. I would carry a big folder but with the LM and my cellphone holster, there's enough stuff on my belt.

Victorinox rambler is all I usually carry. The rambler is good 99.9% of the time. For the other 0.1% I use either a Leatherman Squirt P4, Spyderco Jester, or Atwood PryBaby Mini.
