Anybody Else An Axis Freak?

I Wont Have My Rat Hole Money Built Up Till End Of April, And After Owniing 1 Afck Im Really Syked To Order A 710, Still Torn Between Plain Or Black, The Afck I Have Is 5 Years Old Heavey Poket Use, And Little To No Wear On Finish, So Im Leaning For The Awsome Black Rukus....peace

Just for one. I really like my HK34 DPF 14200. Its the best axis locking folder I've owned.

I love the axis lock. I only have one, a 710, but it's by far my favorite locking mechanism.
I can't pick an absolute favorite knife, though, despite the merits of whatever features are to be considered. I like my Emerson, Spyderco, and Benchmade folders equally, but for different reasons.

And no matter what, I always have a decent slipjoint or a SAK in my pocket in addition to whatever heavy duty folder I may carry (sometimes even without a large locking folder!).

The Axis lock is what convinced me to carry knives. It's was just fun opening and closing an Axis lock knife that I had to get one myself. On my 5th BM knife (921, 707, 705, 558, 710D2) and 6th on order (558M2), I can say I love Axis locks.

I'm another fan of the Axis lock. In fact, at this point, I wouldn't buy a folder that wasn't an Axis.

I like the axis method of locking, I have mostly BM's & HK's....but have a few CRKT M16's....their OK...I'm going to try one of the Spider SNG's (framelocks)and see if they are really that good....I really like the look of the Marzitelli blades though....about the same price...Marz a bit more....

The problem with the 710 for me is it keeps kicking other potential EDC knives out of my pocket. I carried the Doug Ritter Grip for awhile, but the 710 found its was back into my pocket. Then I was EDC'ing a Mini Skirmish, but the 710 is back in my pocket. I think my 710 is one of the ugliest knives I own. I got the HSSR model, so it has a combo edge which I'm not crazy about. I don't like the black coating which is worn. However, I just like the way it carries, the way it handles, the speed and ease I can open and close it, etc. I like the way the M2 steel takes and holds an edge.

I've got an BM 14210, and a SOG Ti Vision with the ARC. Both great locks. Here's a tip. You know how lint could get into the lock. Here's what you do. It helps to wash your jeans with pockets inside-out to prevent lint from building up in them thus getting into your lock. Also, before lubing your knife, take one of these computer dust cleaners that are cans of pressurized air and spray the heck out of the mechanisms inside of dust.
An old tip from your friendly neighbor, Uncle deathshead.
