Anybody else have too many packs?

Mine is both, and the need for cargo pants as a form of smaller pack, lol. I can't seem to buy pants without a need for extra pockets. I need to have a place to stash some stuff on me when I don't have my pack ha ha. And yes I have a lot of packs. I also love to modify them to fit my needs better.

I don’t have a lot, but I like what I have.

Kelty Redwing 50 - this is basically my suitcase for travel and camping
Eberlestock Swithblade - also for travel and camping. Extra items like rain gear, first aid, extra flashlights and batteries, extra mags for firearms, electronic accessories, extra clothing, etc. If I have to exit my vehicle and take off quickly, this will be the pack that I grab.
Blackhawk 3 Day Assault - a good, rugged pack for whatever.
Cheap Sling Type - for trail walking or a day out with the wife when I need to carry a few extra items. Good way to conceal a larger handgun and extra mags in the summer months.

My wife has basically the same type packs as the Kelty and Eberlestock for the same reasons, just a bit smaller.

I have a huge camp trails Paragon up stairs. That I need to put on Marketplace. In it's day I was one of the best packs available, but I am past the age of multi day hiking.
There's a day pack upstairs that the dogs got so dirty that it needs to be thrown out
There's a camo day pack that is my hunting pack I've had it for years
Outdoor products navy blue molle pack for general purpose
A roll top pack for couple day trip not sure what brand
Sling bags (what I actually use daily)
5:11 Moab 6 my work bag EDC
5:11 Moab 10 my go bag has everything that my work bag has plus more first aid battery bank extra knife light space blanket etc
5:11 gave in and bought another pack setting up for an outdoor 10 essentials bag
Condor E & E messenger bag was my primary bag for years
UTG ( maxpedition jumbo fat boy clone) served a a work bag with the above bag as go bag
Condor deployment bag nice bag but too small.
As I get older I don't use bigger. Packs much several have been gifted.
I've tried a couple of other brands of sling bags, the 5:11 bags are made for us bigger guys and just carry better.
Condor stuff is 85% of the quality of maxpedition which is over built @ 50-60% of the cost. It's my go-to for pouches still.

I have a camelback dispatch that just keeps on trucking, I have used it rain or shine for over 10 years at this point and it hardly shows any sign of wear. My military unit keeps giving new backpacks, so I have a stack of them in the garage. I have a brand new Oakley kitchen sink and a couple of rush 24s waiting for this camelback to die, and by the looks of it, they will be waiting a long time.

I gave each one of the grandkids a bag with inexpensive fake sewing kit and pocket size hand wipes. Then they went through my work bag and asked questions about what and why I carry stuff. Their mom is going to appreciate me when they start building EDC kits :)
I gave the daughters boyfriend the big camp trails bag. So I thinned out a few.

I'm focusing on my 3 sling bags for kits . I got an order from Temu today. Tube tent pill vaults a little sewing kit. I have found a lot of the stuff like this are the same thing as Amazon sells but cheaper . There are a lot of things I wouldn't buy for Temu but a lot of the stuff I was getting from Amazon is 1/2-3/5th the Amazon prices.

Yeah, I know I still have too many. I've been actively working my way toward Ultralight but have gotten as far as Lightweight. My new favorite currently is a new Mountain Hardwear PCT that I really am smitten over, the size and pockets and back support are really nice. I still have my old Dana packs from early 90s, but only use a smaller volume one. The others I still cling to for sentimental sakes. I was also collecting old canvas/leather packs from early eras along with old gas stoves, which I've been parting out over the last few years. I have one backpack for a grandson that would fit him, though most aren't really interested in backpacking.

Short answer...NEVER!!!!

At one time I had 4 different gen TAD Gear Alpha EDC Packs, PDW, Remote Equipment A31, Tactical Tailor 3 day pack, Kelty redwing, SPEC OPS Pack, Kifaru 1st gen Antero, a Mystery Ranch 6500 and several different LBT packs. Now I have 1 TAD Gear EDC, the PDW, 2 x Remote equipment A31's, Kelty Redwing, the Mystery Ranch 6500 and several LBT packs. This doesn't include a few med sling bags from NAR and LBT.

I also have an old NAR vehicle trauma bag in my car loaded with bug out stuff.

Hi my name is Josh and I am a packaholic.
