Anybody else like Stag?

I know a couple of people that claim they dont like stag handles, and I think what ruined it for them is handle covers that are fatter than the bolsters and or of unequal thickness.

I Love stag but am very picky about not having it be thicker than the bolsters, and not having one side thicker than the other. I especially like narrow waisted stag handles, like the 2nd and 3rd one down in the pic from this excellent thread full of stag

otoh, I respect that fat stag can be very hand filling and good to grip when using the knife.

Nice stags! I wish you guys would include spine shots, so people who think all stag is too fat, will see its not always that way..

Jon, Not the best picture (a few minutes ago on a cellphone) but these are all fairly thin.

Peregin - Those are some really nice examples of stag done the right way. Even on both sides. Any chance you could post a pic showing them mark side up? :)

Here's another quick smartphone shot. After I took it I noticed there's an extra knife in there. Stag is by far my favorite cover material. From left to right they were made by: Ohta, Chamblin, Ohta, Ohta, Chamblin, Ohta and Cramer.

Thank you for posting your wonderful stag knives Gary. :D

John Lloyd does a great job keeping his stag thin. Have to take an edge-on photo of mine this afternoon.

I love stag when both sides match nicely with similar color and texture. Here's a couple examples.
