How is that Drifter II an "fake bolster"?It depends. I'm okay with using a different material as a faux bolster, such as on the Civivi Appalachian Drifter 2. However, cutting a line to imply a bolster looks dumb to me. The Civivi Imperium is probably the worst offender. The texture change helps on some of the simpler Dogma models but not by enough.

It really depends on the knife. It can be done well and enhance the aesthetics of the knife. That Olamic in this thread is a good example. In general, though, I don’t care for the look.
That's how I see it too.Bolsters made from a material other than metal that are separate pieces from the scales are still real bolsters.
