Anybody Else Watch "The Colony"

I understand what they are going for with this show. That said, the addition of the Mad Max style invaders really lowers the show to bad comedy. I think the straight-up concept of "Urban Survivorman" would have been much more interesting.

Not to mention many of the test subjects seem like actors. I swear I have seen the doctor somewhere before.

I just watched it last night, and I have to say I was disappointed. I expected more from the producer of Deadliest Catch. The inherent real life drama in DC makes for compelling viewing. Obviously parts are re-enacted and sometimes staged, but it's about real men doing a job that is really dangerous.
On The Colony, it appeared to be all staged. Here they are making the drama, not just recording it. Therefore they need the cliched group dynamic to create friction to create the drama. They have the mildly unstable handyman and the ex-con. Soon we'll have the heated slanging match as two or three of them vie for leadership. To follow will be the complaining and griping to camera behind each others backs. I wonder which one will turn out to be the lesbian/homosexual/minority with a chip on their shoulder.
It's just like that awful MTV show The Real World. But in a warehouse instead of a million dollar beach house.
