Anybody else's fingers hurt from opening and closing a new knife?

The only knife that actually wore out my hands from breaking it in was the notoriously grip-sensitive first run of the Zero Tolerance (Sinkevich) 0452. Thankfully ZT got their act together later in the production run, and it was obvious by the time of the release of the blue-anodized 0452 that you didn't need to be as meticulous with your right hand and fingers to reliably flip the blade.

Just had a 0450 come in, detent was literally so tight I could hold it from the very bottom of my knife and press the flipped against the edge of my desk and it still took extreme force to get it to unseat. Tried to open it up, lube both bearings as well as the detent ball, put it back together, same problem. So I began 1/8th turns on the pivot screw, I ended up about 3/4 of the way from fully tight before the knife would open with reasonable force to the point you knew it would break in eventually. At that point though I had blade play when fully open. I had already tried the leaving it open at different angles for 48 hours and that didn't help. Back in the box it went for an exchange. If you watch the youtube review of this knife by nutnfancy (I know...) he has the standard and the CF, mine literally took more force then the CF he's trying to open in that video.

When it gets uncomfortable for me to open and close a modern I switch to a traditional... When my fingernail feels like it is going to break in half I go back to modern, wash rinse repeat. Enjoy your knives and weekend
