I am visiting Wellington, New Zealand on a quick business trip sometime in two or three weeeks time.

Though I haven't lived there for 10 years, I'd expect same knife laws as here i.e. not allowed to carry knives around (and don't try it on planes) but you should be OK if you don't go waving it around like a dickhead. Plenty of places to get a souvlaki there too
