The 921 is my favorite daily use knife. The 3.3" main blade is as unthreatening as the 2" jobbie and all of the hardware uses the same size torx wrench. The S30V, as heat treated by Benchmade, holds a really nice edge while being stain resistant and easy to sharpen. Plus, the shape that Mr. Osborne chose for the blade and the handle makes it great for handling chores that require piercing or scoring.
The aluminum handle is very smooth, but don't let that steer you elsewhere. The butt end fits into the palm like an egg and it has a protrusion that makes it resemble a subhilt blade. It's like a slimmer version of the Ares 73x handle.
Are there drawbacks to it? Sure, it's all about compromises.
First, New Graham Pharmacy can't keep the plain version available on their website long enough (often making the price higher if you go elsewhere). Second, Wharncliffe is a blade that disregards belly which may limit the amount of uses where the 921 excels. Third, there's only one color choice.
