Admittedly I have not gone out as much as I would like but still no venison yet this season. Hopefully with the farmers starting to take out corn we will see a few more deer heading back to the woods instead of hanging in the fields. I am ready for fresh venison tenderloin and I really want to try my AMS out as a skinning knife. I have a feeling that it is going to do an excellent job.

How have you guys done so far. Anybody got one yet?

Garth

my friend's boy got one this morning with his car. that was fun dressing it, mmmm.

Our Archery Season starts October 21st, I can't wait.
Best of luck to you All.

I took down a DUI/NVDL and NVDL this weekend hunting traffic...

Didn't use Bussekin on them, though...

7 pt management buck on our place 175lbs 5 1/2 yes old and score 117. Buddy shot it with a biw at 22 yards. Will post pics when I get to a laptop.

Did shoot a sow with my crossbow.
Hunting will be tough as we had 8+" of rain and acorns. We did manage to plant 20+ acres of oats which will help after a freeze

I'm not a hunter, but I think bow season has started here in New York State. Last night when I was heading over to my Neighborhood watering hole there was a four wheeler parked out front with a big ol buck strapped to it check it out, it was dark out so kind of hard to see in the picture

Not yet. My brothers do drawn hunts with Texas Parks and Wildlife's Texas Youth Hunt Program. Absolutely awesome group of folks and nothing but years of good memories. Hopefully we get to go after feral hogs or whitetail sometime this fall/winter. Have to try out my GW, a custom from the Swamp, maybe even use the 1311 and my Trailmaster for butchering if we get a BIG hog >:)

next year, apparently you have to be here 6 months to be a resident :(

Shot a doe across a sow bean field at 100yds.......With a muzzle loader.............Lots of hamburger.............Field dressed with a knife I made 15 yrs. ago......................carl.

The guy who farms my land just took about 20 rows of corn off next to my creek. I am hoping that this makes a nice traffic area for the deer. ;)

Deer in my area are still feeding and moving at night. Corn is still up too. I walked in at 0530 and was surrounded by a herd of stompin' and snortin' deer on Monday.

We have an early doe season over a couple weekends in Oct. Second evening of the season, I took this one at 150 yds. with a Savage 220, 20 ga., with a Lightfield slug.

My workout partner has killed 3 does so far. I don't think he's seen any bucks. I've only been once and didn't see anything.
