Anybody have a Tippman for sale?

Hey Bruce no tippman but a lady just advertised a leather patch machine on the radio this morning for $300. She said they were used for shoe repair so it should handle sheath work.

Bill

I have an old boot patching machine, it is great, but the bobbins are really small so you can't do a whole lot on one bobbin
also since it is a walking foot, the thicker your leather the shorter your stitches

Wouldn't trade or sell my Tippman for anything. They are great. Hope you find one at a deal, but they seldom move from maker to maker without a death.

I hope there is no death

I thought I would ask here because we keep tabs on everything related to making knives and sheaths.

I should have bought one years ago. Last summer I was offered a brand new one for $1000 but didnt jump on it. Now he wants $1200. That may be about fair too.

I like my Tippman a lot Bruce. There is a difinite learning curve on using one but they do a fine job when they are dialed in. I cannot say enough about their customer service - it is great.

from the ABS "tailgaiting" section:

1/10/08 Tippman Boss sewing machine $850.00 This is not the lightweight aluminum one, this is the cast iron machine. Could bring it to Reno and save on shipping. Call David Mirabile 907-321-1103

Thanks guys for the replys and the confirmation that the Tippmann is a good machine. Kaye and I just ordered a brand new one. I cant wait to try it out. I have a feeling it will get allot of use soon. Our youngest son Michael is helping me out part time and we have about 40 hunting knives planned.

I wish I had a Tippmann. Actually, I do, but it's a paintball marker, not a stitcher. :)
I live about 10 miles from the Tippmann factory. I keep threatening to go and see if they have any scratch and dent sales for their stitchers. Well, I can dream, can't I? :)

Bruce as a suggestion -- stay with the settings the machine comes with at the very first. If you change thread weights you might have to tweak it some. Read that manual! When (and if) you get frustrated give their customer service a call. The last time I called I talked w/ Bill Tillman himself and he was a tremendous help after I had "tweaked" the tension settings.

Thanks Bill for the suggestions. We watched the video on their website and it looks like it has several ways for me to foul it up. Looks cool though. I am excited to finally quit hand stitching. My hands are wearing out.
