Does anybody happen to have some spent 3in 12 gauge shells that they would be willing to give up? I am looking at making some match cases for some of my kits and figured these would be kinda neat and cheap (I'm a college student) All the shells I have lying around are the 2 3/4in shells, and I would have to cut down the matches to get them to fit.

I would look for a local source. Do not think that would go over well with the post office. Not sure but may want to check.

Dang. If I'd have known about this sooner I would have saved the hulls from all those slugs I fired last weekend for ya. Slugs are usually roll crimped so you don't have as much of a jagged star crimp to cut off.

While you're at it, get some 10 gauge hulls too. (plastic) A 12 gauge shell will fit with a snug air-tight fit right into a 10 gauge shell, so you have an instant lid.

Just go to a local range and ask if you can grab some. They're usually cheap in giving brass away, but not shotgun hulls.
