I have been looking for a source for quality bastard files and I saw this company carries the brand I wanted. However, I can't find any feedback on them but they do have an A+ rating with the BBB. So if anyone has dealt with Penn Tool Co. let me know what your experience was.

A+ rating with the BBB is a good start. Just use a credit card and don't worry about it. The credit card company will stand behind you. They are an industrial supplier so you shouldn't have any problems if you haven't been able to google any bad stuff about them. You might also take a look at WW Grainger or Mcmaster Carr which are similar and I can recommend from using often.

Wow... Those website you mention are impressive and I will bookmark them for future use. Unfortunately, neither carries the brand of file I am looking for. That brand being Grobet USA. I am looking for them because Grobet is supposed to still be making files in the US or Switzerland.

I've spent lots of money with Penn Tool,
always fair prices and prompt delivery.

MSC industrial supply and Enco are also good.

Good to hear that Penn Tool is reputable.

Word is, most are now being made in India...

Well shoot! I may send Grobet an email and try to confirm that. But if it is true who still makes good bastard files? Or will have to give Nicholson's Mexico files a try. (I have nothing against any nationality but I like to support jobs in the US when I can.)

Seems like every machine shop I've worked for uses Nicholson files. US, Brazil, and Mexico produced .
No difference in quality, and depending on frequency of use, they last from 2 weeks to 2 months.
That is a lot of filing on tool steel hardened to apx. 50 rockwell.
