Anybody into astronomy?

Sorry, no telescopes ... but I salute your astronomical interests anyway.

Failing to see any stars out tonight,
I doubt that I'll see the Great Northern Light.
They follow, I've heard, each great solar flare,
But as long as it's cloudy, I won't know they're there.

The science of beauty is abstract and rigorous;
Our esthetic pursuits are nonetheless vigorous.
We measure each color, chroma and hue,
As if we had nothing better to do.

We measure each refractive angle,
And listen to celestial spheres jangle.
In the end, we're only certain,
The Aurora Borealis makes a heavenly curtain.

Here comes that rotten Halley's Comet.
You make me sick. I want to vomit.

That comet left a few years ago --
About seventy more till the next big show.
Now you won't have to be sick for a while:
I hope this news will make you smile;
But if you just like to vomit,
Go ahead, don't wait for any old comet.
