I've got some "green" elm burlwood, beautiful stuff. Is it possible to dry it in my Evenheat kiln or does it have to just season?

Burl is particularly difficult to dry without cracking . best to immediately coat with wax and let it air dry.
In commercial kiln drying each type of wood and thickness has a drying 'schedule' .Mix different thicknesses or wood types and you'll have problems.

There is a max amount of moisture you can remove from the wood per day. I just sold my sawmill a couple weeks ago and let all my notes go with it but it seems the rate for elm was about 10% per day. Burl would need to be dried slower, so I dont see how you could dry it in the evenheat with success.

It is best to go slow drying burl or bad things can happen.
