Anybody know of a good everyday tactical knife?

Ok, I have some good everyday knives but I'm looking for a new one. I'm looking for something that is an assisted opening knife, or a spring/ speed assist knife, or a knife with a flipper. I like gerber and buck knives, because the majority of them are made in the USA, and I've had great experiences with both. Both companies make knives with little or no bladeplay, which is a big factor to me. I saw some of bucks knives like the "quickfire", but it wasn't exactly a tactical knife. I'm also looking for something with a blade of at least 3.5 - 4 inches, the legal limit where I am is 4 inches. I couldn't find that many gerbers, the spring assist models are mostly mini. I like schrade and S&W, but they are made in Asia. (That is ok, but I am a big fan of USA made knives) I heard CRKT and Kershaw makes some nice knives. I own a few CRKT's, but they aren't tactical knives, they are more for construction. Never owned a Kershaw, but they seem pretty nice. Spyderco also seems cool, never owned one. I'm also only looking at legal knives - no automatics. Price range? Ehh for now lets keep it at around $100. Thanks, share your insights :)

Not SpeedSafe or AO assisted, but the ZT0200 is one slick flipper. Tough, good thick well executed liner (bigger than some frame locks I've seen) and definitely on the tactical side. 3 7/8ths 154CM DLC coated blade, textured G-10 with clip positions for up/down left or right. Extremely tough knife, and well worth the money. Made in the USA.

You might check with Kershawguy in the For Sale Production knives (Dealer) section on the Exchange. I think $100 is the going price for a blem. Which you won't be disappointed with.

Recon 1 from cold steel with the tri-ad lock is pretty tactical. It's not A/o though but you might give it a look.

honestly, i think the spyderco endura 4 is probably one of the best all around knives. it strong, reliable, affordable, extremely high quality. its not assisted though. they are around 50-60 dollar i believe.

the kershaw blur is a really nice assisted opener that can be found around the same price as the endura.

a touch over the $100 (i got mine for $114) is Zero Tolerance's 0350. assisted opening, 3.25" blade of S30V. beefy and solid linerlock with multiple position clip and G10 handles.

Not "spring assissted", but you can get the Spyderco Endura 4 Wave which is faster than assisted knives hence the blade being deployed as it comes out the pocket.

~$65

That's my EDC. Nothing is faster. Then again the 'Stronger than Strider' Tri-Ad locked American Lawman and AK-47 both come with G10 and Demko's version of the Wave.

How bout a benchmade grip or barrage if you really want AO. Both have axis locks and all american

In the spirit of helpfulness: if you are interested in a benchmade barrage, there are currently at least 3 available for under $100 (Buy it Now) on that well known auction site.

daggerman99, Kershaw is the master of assisted openers, they are made in USA, and have many great models for very reasonable prices.

WOW thats one nice knife, and it is an assisted open because there is a thumb stud :) lol. I might get it if I don't see anything else I like...

In the spirit of helpfulness, you are bordering on auction spotting, which we don't allow here.

Welcome to Bladeforums! Please take the time to read through the FAQ at http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/faq.php

Auction spotting? Lol I'm asking around for a good quality knife is all from a person with good experiences. Not really "auction spotting" I was unaware asking for opinions was not allowed here...

I would consider the spyderco assisted, because of that hole to help open it, thanks

The Kershaw blur is really nice, and goes for under $50 on ebay :)

For future reference, you can use that little button with the "+ signs on it next to the QUOTE button to quote multiple people, just hit that button for every post you'd like to quote, and on the last one hit QUOTE. And you can have it all done in one neat little post :)

Also, just to get our terminology straight Assisted Open is actually a specific opening design where there is some sort of spring or torsion bar that snaps your blade open once you start opening it. Knives with thumbstuds or Spyderco holes are generally just referred to as one handed openers, or tactical knives, or just plain pocket knives.
