Anybody else making ulu's around here?
I've done ulu's occasionally for about 15 years just using older 15n20 saw blades. A friend of mine recently got into knife making and got himself a BEE 2x72 and an even heat kiln. I found out about aeb-l on here so we put in an order through aks and have made a few. I'd post pics if I could figure it out.

Top 2 made by my buddy, one mirror finished aeb-l with musk-of boss, the iother came out lookin sweet post quench so we tempered it and buffed it out. Looks pretty sweet, aeb-l with a hamon?

Bottom 2 made by me, maple handled one wasn't finished when I took the pic. That wound up going to my mother-in-law.

They're all heat treated tk about 60 Rockwell using Hoss's recipe.

I've made a few. Mostly out of old saw blades like they do out in the villages. They are remarkably convenient in the kitchen.

Going from old 48-ish rc 15n20 to 60 rc aeb-l is quite the shocker. Now if only if could find a way to sand flat sheet metal to 2000 ~ grit in less time than we do currently (3ish hours), I might invest in my own grjnder
