There are a couple of models in the Byrd line that I'm interested in. The Rescue model is one of the. As well as the G10 models.

EDIT TO ADD:

I am literally blown away by the build quality of this. Fantastic knife!

I have a Meadowlark and a Cara Cara. They are decently built knives but I guess Spyderco has ruined me. Prefer the Delica and Endura, but they're by no means bad. Just not my preference

I had the hawkbill & I loved it. Great f&f & even better value. The 8cr13mov held up decently well.

I have the cara cara 2 and meadowlark2 I have used them both but the meadowlark way more. They are great for the money. Is the endura and delica better absolutely but your paying 3x the price for that level of better. Whether it's worth it is personal preference.

I'm wanting to get the rescue model because it's inexpensive and I can throw it into our vehicles and not worry about it. The G10 models appeal to me to have around the house, etc especially with the BD1 steel in some of them.

Thanks!

I have a Cara Cara 2 in each car in case I forget to grab a knife on my way out the door. They're really pretty impressive for what you pay. The steel is what it is, but as far as budget options go I honestly think they're very underrated.

I'm seeing a couple in CTS BD1N.

My girl is rocking the Meadowlark 2 for her edc. After I reprofiled the edge and polished it she has really liked it. The pivot seems to be really stiff though. I have adjusted and lubed it countless times but still pretty stiff. My only complaint with it would be how stiff the pivot is which could partially be the lock. Other than that great knife for the price.

Check out the Raven 2, the nicest byrd by far IMHO. This knife has great ergos and is nicely overbuilt. The best f&f of the byrds that ive seen and handled.

Just picked up the Rescue model to throw into my vehicle. I'll see how I like it and go from there. :)

I also answered to your post in the Hawkbill thread, but I couldn't resist chiming in here.
Get a Byrd Cara Cara 2, a Tasman Salt and you're set for the rest of you life!

Full serrations, claw shape, rustproof steel + Plain edge, easy to maintain steel, no-frills blade design and excellent carriability on both, with great traction and handle ergonomics

Both for les than $100, makes a really nice Christmas gift to oneself

The Byrd Cara Cara 2 in FRN is my favorite pocket knife regardless of price . Excellent ergonomics, nice size, super light weight, tip-up or tip-down carry, thumb hole opening, and perfectly serviceable steel. It doesn't hold an edge like my M4, Hap40, s30v, or other high end steels, but it's just a few seconds to bring it back to shaving sharp.

Congrats on the cara cara decision. Not to hijack the thread but does anyone know if a meadowlark2 bd1 is on the horizon and also if there is a Byrd the size of a persistence? Thanks I apologize if this is out of line just figured we were talking byrds so why not ask.

I've got a Cara Cara 2 and think it's a great value knife. I really want to try a Raven 2. Maybe next paycheck.
