I got on the SOG website and saw over a dozen new knives. I cant wait to get one or two of the new fixed blades and test it out. Awesome SOG!

Is it just me, or do these new items look a little, hm, lets say...cheap..ish. Somehow?

Aye, they look rather cheap.

I'll see how one performs though before i make judgement.

pfffffffffff..........
Awful design, disgusting steel... Knifes have lost charisma and former appeal... It is difficult to believe that we will not see more SOG Recon bowie, Daggers, Gov-Tac, Team Leader and many other excellent knifes from last catalogues.... What happens with SOG??
I am upset.....

The lock system on the pendulum looks interesting. I'd like to see how it works. The same with the toothlock.

Those swedges look pretty cool too.

Not a single interesting new knife in my opinion. What's up there?
SOG-creators of incredible tools and blades- in the past.

I'll reserve judgement until I handle some of the new ones. Visually, only the Pendulum grabs me. But it looks much like the Vulcan, so I'll have to handle one. The 13" machete has potential and I want to look it over. The Spydie copy does nothing for me.

I gotta agree with the others.. the Pendulum is the only one to have any appeal to me. The other knives may perform great for all I know, but just from glancing at the pictures, they don't look like knives offered from a major manufacturer. Instead they have the look of generic china-brand knives like Mtech and such. Nothing about them looks "SOG"ish except the overdone logos that has seem to become the companies staple.

Yeah, the Pendulum looks the best to me. Nothing new has that SOG look. What's with the near Spyderco rip off? Also, the new Auto-clips are spec'd worse than the old ones.

Some of the new line look like cheap knives marketed toward arm chair commandos. I think the glory days of SOG are gone. They're not what they used to be. That's too bad.

I have to admit that people reminiscing of the legendary SOG blades of the past must mean absolutely nothing to SOG Knives. I guess this means I'll never get rid of any of the SOGs I have right now.

The non chinese models seem to all be rather expensive too.

The swedge modesl in Aus 8 for $160
Yeah know the website prices are listed higher but still.

$150 for that flashlight? It better not be just some chinese brand relabeled.

As far as the spyderco clones go... maybe they are paying a royalty? Either way I think it doesnt speak well of sog designers if they basically trace an endura and put their own name on it.

Saw their new models this morning. For a second I thought I had been redirected to the Spyderco site.

I'm really liking the fresh, original designs. This one looks interesting.

I'll have to be honest these are very ugly designs. Hopefully they will consider releasing these to market and will return to what SOG is known for. Has SOG outsourced their product development to Pakistan or China? I was under the impression that Spencer Frazier was the sole designer.

I like the Swedge (AUS8, 57-58 Hrc) and Woodline fixed blade (8cr13moV, 57-58 Hrc) fixed blades. The Custom colaboration Swedge is more money than the economy priced Woodline but in my opinion not over the top.

As far as the folders I also like the Woodline folder (8cr13moV, 57-58 Hrc) and Fielder non assisted version (7cr13, 56-57 Hrc ?????????) The fielder seems to be super inexpensive but I do not know how good 7cr13 is nor do I have have experience with 8cr13moV but I have read that the latter is alright.

Yes I happen to like the new SOG cheapies. If the fit and finnish are right they will be good values in my book.

They have a few others that I like but they are way way way out of my price range.

I am VERY intrigued by the Aura Camping knife. I wish the sharpener was a fire steel though.
