It wasn't me. Nope.
However, a story of me from long ago and far far away: My terrific Grandfather, Jake the machinist, gave me, pre-school me, ice picks, tongs, hatchets and hammers of various sizes and shapes plus invited me to use his vise as I saw fit. Some other young boy could have very well tested your knife and other manufactured products with the intention of achieving failure by employing blunt force trauma regardless of any perception of value in the thing itself, collector or user or other value. Just a thought. Not to push the spotlight off of me but I wonder if others here had such toys/tools and put them to work while wet behing the ears......
I still have the pocket knife he gave me and it is perfect.
