Anybody swim with an XM?

I may even take a photo or two for the heck of it because threads without photos are just.....words.:)

It may defeat the purpose but why not use a zip lock plastic bag when swimming with a XM? If you have zippered pockets in your trunks then that might make it simpler and still keep it secure.

Too much work..;)

And not very handy when need arises.

It's just water, no big deal. Swim, dry, lubricate, repeat as desired.

I just picked up a little summer run coho (on the fly) last weekend and was glad to have the XM handy for a quick and humane dispatch, as well as the subsequent gutting/cleaning in river water. The XM is always fine after complete dunking and me being too lazy to clean up when I get home!

I enjoy flyfishing and always take my XM18...it sees plenty of dunk time but I always bring it home and clean it up. Never a problem...

Most bodies of water I find myself around anymore I absolutely will have my XM in my pocket and "We" will get wet.
When I am traversing the river (and its tributaries) to get to the Island _ I encounter many of the "native inhabitants"
Snakes, Bank Beaver, Walleye, Pike, - Many things that have the ability to inflict harm so they choose. Swimming with a weapon is essential and I opt for my EDC XM rather than submerge my Glock,Hk or Kimber.
I am glad the clip is snug because dropping into the bottom of the river would spell almost certain loss.
So, N2K (as usual) asks a great question and for me it goes well beyond just the confines of the backyard pool.
I regularly flip my kayak (yes, agility is a strong suit of mine) OR find myself not able to get the pontoon boat close enough to shore. Sometimes the anchor gets stuck and a dive to cut away weeds is required. My Watch is up to the task and so is my knife (cell phone, not so much) that stays in the truck or gets put in two(2) ziplock bags. Fun conversations there, "You sound like your in a well, No I'm in a Bag"

As you can see, It's a ways across and sometimes a boat isn't available :)

Nice, Rubi.

I cannot trust my gear across a body of water, even if locked inside a vehicle....so, my grab-n-go bags contain two water-resistant pouches..one big enough for electronics and a larger one that will encapsulate the entire bag...sometimes just a garbage bag (ie water resistant).

All dry..slung water out, no additional care...she's actually cleaner now than when I hopped into the water.

I think you nailedit...what else could it even be?

It's the same affliction as people slow down to catch a glimpse at a traffic accident. They "think" they wanna see but.... trust me

they don't. Who knows what future posts might bring though, I suggest extreme caution maybe even a hand before the eyes with a slight peek.

I know a couple photographers that work with models? You want to see what kind of shots they can do for your portfolio...

Oops, sorry that's a pick up line, my bad.

It's true though, on both counts.
