Hi my recent purchase of a custom knife didn't go down too well and I was wondering if anybody is willing to make a knife out of 1095 (or any other suggested steel) and paper micarta handle for me. I'll post a photoshop image of the details later tonight and my budget is ~200USD (I don't know what the market standard is but its a traditional style tanto with a 5 inch handle, 12 inch blade, 5/16'' thick, satin finish please let me know if I'm in the wrong ballpark price wise).

The main use is for me to make a crocodile hide sheath for it but I thought it would be nice to have something related to my heritage.

Thank for your help in advance :)

Sorry for troubling you I didn't know there was a section in the forum that was dedicated just for this purpose. I'll be more careful in future. Thanks for your help.

No trouble at all...it happens. :) Good luck with your search. We have a lot of quality makers here and hopefully you'll be able to get what you want.

Thanks Morrow :)

here is the diagram I was talking about.

By pearl white paper micarta I mean one which looks like this:

If I'm asking for the moon for 200USD please let me know. Also if you have any advice on the knife please post away too :)

Thanks for your help.

p.s. if the photos I borrowed belong to anyone here sorry for borrowing them!

I could make it but it will be a bit more than $200. Use the contact info. listed below and we'll discuss it further. The reason is that I think they prefer us to talk $$$ in emails or PM's.

That southard rescale is one I did. No worries on using the photo but it's white mother of pearl kirinite. Darrin probably told you that already though.
Good luck with the knife!

Thanks for the reply everyone :)

Darrin I've sent you an email and spketch that is one fantastic looking scale you made there!

Hi everyone I spoke to Darrin (fantastic chap I couldn't speak of him higher). Unfortunately my budget was a little too shy so I will still be looking for a knifemaker...

Please let me know if you would like to make a knife for me! :)

Darrin thank you again for your help!
