Anybody want to share some of their knife collection storage methods?

I use Knafs waxed canvas rolls, I really like them. No contact with one another, fits some pretty big folders, and has some larger pockets as well. Has a flashlight/pen slot. I used to keep my Wiha stubby driver in there but now I have a dedicated Maxpedition pouch with tools/spare parts/lube/Skiff bearings and washers. I also have a leather folio pouch I got from ocd4edc, and that's mainly where my high end stuff goes. It even fits a 111 with no problem.

I use waxed tool rolls as well, but I also use this Harbor Freight Wooden Tool Chest to keep the ones I use most handy, and am very happy with it:

The only thing is that you need to check carefully and pick out a good one from their inventory. Sort through whatever they have on hand and make sure it’s a good solid one. Of the four or five they had on hand, only one was really acceptable.

I’ve got one of these. Very useful and inexpensive. I also have a large pelican case and a bunch of rolls, plus some soft-shelled carry cases lined in fur/sherpa for the aristocrat in me.

Each drawer holds 12-20 folders depending on how you put them in there.
And larger fixed blades in sheaths as well, tho only 6-12.

I don't think it's available anymore, but I've seen similar drawers for craft storage.

This thread made me realize that I have waaaay too many knives and this isn't everything. 😬

I have that chest as well but it doesn't really hold all that much. I recently upgraded to this, also from Harbor Freight. Really impressed with the quality of it because it's much better than what you would normally expect from them, although it cost a little bit more.

It's also available in several colors, including purple, which made me think of our friend DaveHS DaveHS

That’s another great one. I recently bought some of their tiny ones to keep the cleaning supplies, bits, drivers, etc, in.

ive seen these and always wanted one. H Gerstner makes them in the USA, I think they've been around for over 100 years, one of those would be awesome. They also have a more affordable line of their boxes that are made overseas, even one of those would be nice. Before long my collection will grow to the point of needing something like this

that looks like a dang good tool box. Harbor Freight has some high quality products, you just have to know where to look. For example their off-road winches are very highly regarded. Matts Offroad Recovery uses their Apex winches on all of his vehicles, i think he has 8 on his big offroad recovery rig. And he was using them before he had any sort of endorsements from them. You should see what he does with those things, he has incredible confidence and faith in them. I plan to get one for my Colorado ZR2 at some point. My dad just bought an Icon wrench set and they are extremely nice, not even for the money, just straight up nice tools. He/we have loads of Snap On, and we will not be spending anymore money on them when something like Icon exists. No need for a hobbyist. Heck there's hardly a need for a professional, SnapOn pricing and purchase plans are straight up predatory. You can watch Project Farm and see how the HF products stack up, they are nothing to sneeze at. If you want SnapOn wrenches and tools, just buy Caterpillar tools from their direct site. Literally the same tool, made by SnapOn, in the same factory, confirmed, not a conspiracy, just with a "Cat" logo on them, for 30%+ cheaper. Sorry for the tool tangent. The box looks amazing.

No worries about the tool tangent. I love good tools!

I think HF said to compare this box to SnapOn. It's much heavier gauge steel than similar priced ones at Home Depot. Together it weighs around 300lbs empty. I'm sure Snap On makes great tools, but at some point, you're definitely paying for the name.

Mostly Bill's or equivalent. but here's a few different
