First of all, I assume that AEB-L will behave like 13C28, and vice versa, based on what I have read.

I think I have seen AEB-L mentioned in connection to a Scandinavian knife manufacturer.

In the Alpha Knife Supply page, it says, "I've recommended this stainless steel to knifemakers for years. Anyone who has been around me will tell you I love this steel."

I am just thinking of making some smaller EDC's and skinners, and wondering what you all think about this steel, both in terms of end-use, and ease of cutting, grinding, filing, and sanding it.

I have got some little homemade knives of 154CM, HT'd by Texas Knifemakers, and I swear they hold an edge better than my Buck Vantage, in 13C26. Maybe it's just my imagination.

Speaking of 154CM, I have been very happy with it, but I am just tempted to venture out into something different.

Thank you all for any experience you wish to share.

I have ground a few blades in aeb-l . From What I have heard it is great for the price. The thickest bar stock of AEB-L is .130 is what I have found.

I like 13c26 by sandvik, I buy it in sheets 72"x6" so I guess I use a fair amount. No
complaints. I have'nt found anything that acts more like cpm than this steel. No complaints
on edge holding either. I use it on folders and straight blades both. 15 or so knives a year.
Ken.
