Curious how well they hold up to the elements, any tests I can see?

...all I can tell you is I carried a KBar for 4 years in a very rainy part of Germany (Fulda), in a unit that averaged 6 months a year in the treeline. That was 15 years ago. Last month, I "re-found" my KBar after 5 years in the attic (Texas heat and humidity). No problems - resharpened it and put it back on duty in my truck. I've never been particularly careful with my working knives - I didn't even know what a "tuff cloth" was until I joined this forum. At most, I've put a little WD40 on. Parkerized 1095 will do just fine in the elements - I can remember times in Germany when I(or my KBar) wasn't dry for an entire week. Never anything more than a rust spot, and then only where the parkerizing had worn off.

Heck, I've had many more rust problems with my 440C "stainless" dive knives! (yes, the 1095 knives have seen the ocean too).

...for a working knife, and for the money - you'd have a hard time beating a KBar (or Camillus - they make the same thing)

Check out the Mission Knives website. They did some long term testing with Navy knives and have a good article on them there.

Will, Where is the Mission Knives website?
Do you know of any sites, etc. with combat knife tests/reviews?

I loved my Kabar until a few hours ago (check the blade disscusion area) anyway I don't know about water durability but there is NOOO tree durability.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.
