Anyone a klutz like me? What's the most durable knife?

I've done just about everything you could imagine to a few Opinels over the years, short of setting them on fire. They're pretty robust. Such simple construction.

Try a peanut with delrin scales and SS blades. And check your pockets before you go to bed. Now, for saying that, I'll probably forget some blades myself! I have forgotten quite a few knives in the laundry.

After working all day last weekend, helping my buddy build his house, I was pretty tired and out of it. I jumped out of the truck in my driveway, grabbed all my stuff including my long pants that were removed earlier in the morning and replaced with shorts and from about 4 and a half feet, my Ebony #92 spear bladed Talon hit the asphalt. The impact occurred right at the edge where the bareheaded cover turns into the blade slot (had a bottom bolster been there, it would have hit there). It dented the wood a little. I took the knife and rubbed the damaged area on the kitchen countertop, and it smoothed out. Visible, yes, very slight dent. Cracked cover, no way not even close to cracking. Had it been bone or stag, or acrylic, I couldn't say that it would have remained intact but those materials tend not to dent.

Nice, Rockon. You get that moment of dread when you see your knife lying there and you're reaching for it, but you really don't want to see what the other side looks like. :(

Glad that yours turned out OK.
