Anyone an Eagle Scout?

Well, I made Life before I got my drivers license and then scouting took a back seat. I look back now and think that it would have been nice to finish. The monthly camping trips along with the major outings such as Philmont Scout Ranch and Canoe Base Seven are things that I'll never forget. For our trip to Philmont we drove to NM in 33 brand new Oldsmobile Vista-cruisers (for those young people here, these were station wagons), with Police escorts through most of the larger towns and included a night at the Air Force Academy. Back then I think that I was given my first pocket knife at 4 and always carried one after that and no one thought any different.

...... I think the RC 3 should get a nice scout logo and get issued to scouts....

That would be fantastic. Black blade with red g-10 handles. RAT logo on one side, scout logo on the other. I'd buy two right now. One for me and one for my son even though he has years before he can be a scout.

Philmont Ranch has to be one of coolest places I have ever been. That was super fun. I learned so much there. I can't wait to go back again someday.

I'd also be down for a RAT Scout RC-3.

You know, It's a shame that can't be done currently. Love to see them change their minds on that.

Of course, I'm sure an Eagle version with the award laser etched into the blade, and red white and blue scales would be well received by folks.

I made it to Life, then got too interested in getting laid and getting drunk to get my service project done on time.

Most of the time I really regret not going through with it...but when I look back at those memories...it is pretty hard to feel bad about it.

I would have regretted NOT doing what I was doing too...

you just told my story almost verbatem...:o

i made life by 14 or 15. we had been camping at least once monthly. never cabins, unless it was an order of the arrow thing. (explain that:confused:) we were either in eureka A-frames, or just under the stars. then all the good leaders quit, leaving the laziest ones to handle a bunch of heathens. i was personally responsible for the completion of 3 or 4 eagle projects, (i believe 2 of them are now felons.) and didn't see a reason to do one for myself. besides, there wasn't any vodka at H. Roe Bartle.:D
