Anyone an ex-smoker or trying to quit?

I've always heard the trick to quitting is to keep busy and redirect your attention from the act itself. Some eat, some work out, and some have sex (or so I've heard).

I guess, if you think about it, all that money you could save from not smoking could go into getting a new knife. Let's say a pack-a-day comes out to $5. That's a Subway Sandwich every single day (I like to measure money in terms of how many Subway Sandwiches I can get out of it). If you were to save that money for a month, that's roughly $150. You could pick up some pretty nice knives for that price.

Went to a pipe. Used to smoke 1 1/2 packs of Winstons a day.
Now I dont inhale and it cost me about 30 cents a day.

I've been a smoker for 17 years, and today I am going to try to quit smoking again. If you're an ex, what has worked for you? So far, Chantix and will power have not worked. If you're trying to become an ex, what hasn't worked? I'm hoping that I will be motivated to quit knowing my health risks will decrease for myself and my family. And, all the money I save can be used for my other addiction: knives! Don't be afraid to share your thoughts.

I've smoked for at least 65 years .When I owned my speed shop/auto parts store I tried those mini cigars wirh the plastic mouthpiece because I was headed toward 2 packs a day. Ther worked very well. Light up ,have a few puffs, lay it down & go back later. If it still burned, okay but if it went out a few pulls still were satisfying.

Worked for me !
