looking for my dream Busse, the only one I can find is with a satin finish.. I will use the hell out of it, an it will occasionally get wet and dirty!! is there a reason satin would be a poor choice???

Satin makes a great user, wet and dirty are fine. I wipe it off before sheathing and clean it up and oil when I get home. I have a satin batac at the barn that gets used several times a week for opening bags and it hasn't seen oil in over a year, it looks fine.

Only if you want it to stay "brand new" pretty... satin blades get marked up with use; but they work just as well (arguably better at some tasks)

does it show any more markings from use than coated INFI?

I couldn't say - I don't own anything in infi, coated or not...but, yes, satin marks up more easily than coating.
Do you care if your coated blades show use?
On the bright side, satin is easier to clean/polish than a coated blade.

Any knife shows marks with use, its just what happens.

Actually, anyTHING shows marks with use. Check out a daily driver versus a show car and you'll see.

Its incredibly easy to touch up an uncoated knife though, its impossible to replace worn coating.

hope this helps.

Satin is the way to go, or competition finish, nothing wrong with the coated varieties, but they just show as much if not more wear and tear than the Satin or Comp finish

There is nothing more stylish than a worn satin look :)

Take a look at some heavily used and treasured satin zippo or a swiss watch. Its got a seasoned veteran look and it feels like its truly yours.

well...ya just sold me on satin..

I use my satin hg55 camping and hunting. It ages like wine. Uncoated blades are the best performers in my opinion.

Whuh!? Nevarrr! :D Well... ok, yeah a lot! :p

How do you restore a tarnished and scratched satin finish? Flitz metal polish and scotch bright pads??

i used my MOABM... It is now at the custom shop getting tweaked!
What? You don't use what you buy?

Satin is the way to go

the only difference in an indestructible high end superior knife and a sharp paperweight is the user.. I use the living s*** out of my knives. I want to experience everything that blade has to offer.. all the thought, testing, and designing that was put into it. I cant stand keeping a blade tucked away in a safe..

Amen to that
