Anyone beat on their satin finish?

I prefer satin over coated blades. I hate coated blades for using, satin is easier to use in my opinion.

One of my blades is mirror polished (like greased lightning) and during the polishing, i noticed 800 grit is about what the satin finish is at.
 
The only downside is that satin usually costs more than the coated.

On the Brightside there is nothing like using a knife that not only performs great, but always looks great too!
 
I would go Satin also. While my RMD hasn't seen as much use as the TGLB it still shows wear. The TGLB coating shows far more though. For beating the snot out of that RMD on several occasions the wear on the satin is actually not that bad. One issue I did have was rust spots on the handle tang. We get a lot of humidity and thunderstorms here in the summer and I have this same issue on my A2 blades. As this is a using knife my solution is to simply give the tang a lite patina. No more rust spots.

wow, she held up well!! I went with a satin ash1 .32 im so excited!
 
Since Busse discontinued ther team Gemini light brigade does anyone know someone or somewhere I can get one brand new for under 400$ thanks

ill keep my eyes an ears open.. but with its discontinuation an walking dead starting back up, the value is gonna start its inevitable upward trend..
 
Considering they retailed for $387 New, and have been discontinued I would doubt it. You may be able to pick up a slightly used one for less than $400, or just order the New one with SR-101 Steel for $257!!!

Agreed, my Battle Grade Ash1 is AWESOME!! an tough as hell!!! ive been beating on it an that SR101 is legit!!
