Rodgrego passed very well. Instead of the normal two wood 2x4's and one piece of one inch rope I had him cut 11 2x4's and 6 ropes. The knife shaved his arm clean as well as shaivng the dog that happened to be wandering by about that time. Clean bend. This was done with an intergal 52100 blade. Obviously he tests himself and his blades at his shop. He had confidence in all portions of the test. When there was a knot that could be cut he cut it, he never once declined a knotted area on the boards. Lin Rhea has some photos so maybe he can post them up.
He did good. Congradulations to him for sure.

Thank you very much Jerry. This is very good news. Just before Rodrigo left I spoke to him on the phone and, well, he may explain how I feel about this moment. I am really proud of how he, Luciano and Ricardo performed on thier tests. Specialy Rodrigo.. cause he was the one who got me "into this"
More news on the show would be great. Was it busy? Were lots of knives sold? I am sure that the overall quality of the knives was high and I would love to see photos.
I had the table next to him so I got to see his knives and talked to him about them. All I can say is his knives are outstanding ,I really enjoyed him for a weekend neighbor.

Fred Rowe who went to the show with me shot some 300+ photos sat. He is not home yet. I'm sure he will post some as soon as he gets them worked up. Maybe a day. I can tell you the show was a lot of fun. I Added one to my collection. A John Fitch Clip Point hunter. Stag Handle. Super clean. I think some Of his best work. You can see it at the blade show.
Here are a few shot of Rodrigo's JS test. I had two cameras going and I did'nt get the rope cut on this one. I will say that Rodrigo held the rope in his left hand and cut it with his right. I was impressed. Here we go.....
Rodrigo told me that he did'nt get nervous untill Jerry got serious and started with the official rules of the test. Rodrigo has the other camera with other pictures on it. I have a few more, but these are the main ones that I have. Lin
I spent the new year´s eve with Rodrigo and Luciano at Rodrigo´s place and I had the opportunity to handle that knife. It wasn´t finished at that time but was a vicious cutter already. It had a thick heavy spine and a very confortable handle. It´s one knife I am happy to see bent and abused
By the way Lin, I hope you don´t mind I past your pictures at the Knife Network Forums wich hosts the Brazilian Bladesmiths Society forum.
I'm sorting the fotos I took at the AKS and will get them on as soon as my host server gets it's act together. Some great knives and some great hats also.
