Has any one had any experience with an eBay seller named spyderbugs? This seller shows excellent feedback, had a great deal on a knife that I bought the other day, but all of sudden pulled all their other auction items. I have emailed the seller, but no reply. I am concerned because they had more than one of each item they were selling, at real decent prices, and now I am a little worried. I will be patient but wanted to know if any one here had any good or bad experiences or knows anything about this seller named spyderbugs on eBay.

thanks folks!

I don't know who this seller is. What I can tell you is this: be extra vigilant, on who exactly you buy from, & what you buy off of that auction site- especially when it comes to Spyderco's knives! Back in my early years, I purchased 2 counterfeit's (both were Spydies). In my case, eBay eventually made it right, however they more often than not, ignore this very serious issue that continues to plague their auction site. :thumbdn:

The fact that this seller either removed/or had them removed (all of their sales listings), make me think that this person may have been possibly reported for selling fakes? Who knows...just be careful; & smart!

You've taken the time to join this forum. There are many great deals on Spyderco's, that are posted for sale every single day on this forum. There are also, very reputable, trustworthy dealer's here. Dealer's, that if you buy from here, you don't have to worry like you do over on that other place you are referring to.

Best of luck, & welcome to BladeForums!

Thank you! I am usually vigilent, etc... and I did have one instance where I bought a Spydie Vollotton, that was fake, but realized it early on, and they auction site did me right... Now this knife, the C46, I have not seen faked... at least not yet. But I was not worried about it being fake as much as it being a scam auction.

So, get this: I found the name of the seller (via paypal) , googled it, and found the wife of the seller, and spoke to her, and she confirmed that all is legit and that her husband is out of town until the end of this week... Hopefully this wasn't a bunch of BS, but I am going to be patient, and see what happens.

Thank you guys! I watch the sales forums every day!

As far as very important advise here on BladeForums: PayPal Goods Always! You most likely already know this, however it may benefit you to take the time & read this very helpful sticky thread on this subject:

The seller is 100% legit in every way. The auctions weren't pulled, the knives sold out.

Thank you! - it sounds like you have personally dealt with this seller, and I appreciate setting my mind at ease....

yes, some were sold, others :

"This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available. "

which I always took to mean - pulled. But they could have been sold locally.

Also - I was very gracious with the person I spoke with on the phone. I explained my situation which she fully understood, and let her know I wasn't some psycho stalker, etc... It was a good conversation.

I am reading what I wrote, and it sounds a little out of line to hunt some one down... but I went about it in a very humble, gracious way..

I bought from this seller and was told by a reliable source that the seller is actually Erics wife. They sell some nice older models without gouging the price.
