Anyone carry a knife of $1200 range?

I carry A $12.00 knife now and then. I usually like a little higher quality though. :p

Ps- jk.

I use my knives..and I know there is no "using" knife on this planet worth $1200...if someone spent that much or more on a knife I would probably win a bet that it was a collectible purchased by a collector...and I suspect they don't use those knives for edc's :)

If I was dumb enough to buy a $1200 knife, I'm sure I'd be dumb enough to carry and use it too.:) Actually, if I could afford it I'd use it.

I have carried and used knives that were worth significantly more than 1200. The most expensive that I currently use is a SHBM varient (no clip), with a Satin finish (or was anyway), and these are fairly high on the secondary market. There are many folders worth far more than this, and a number of people do actually carry and use them.

I'll say this. I've seen Emerson customs go for 1000-3000 dollars and I;ve also seen there same knives CQC5,6,7,8,9,Viper variants and other in the pockets of some SERIOUS Emerson nuts. Personaly I don't have the money for a Emerosn custom which I GREATLY ADMIRE and his production models designs don't really appeal to me.

To answer your question. YES there are ALOT of people who have and use 1200$ and up knives on a daily basis. If I had a custom CQC7 i would use it proudly. You don't spent 120,000$ on a Porche 911 twin turbo just to look at it in your driveway do you?

Just curious, does anyone carry a knife in the 1200 dollar price range? If so how many?

Ever catch a glimpse of vintage car racing on t.v. or notice a Patek on someone's wrist?

If you can afford it (and I can't), and you enjoy it, how is it "dumb?"

It's so funny to me that someone can't wrap their head around the idea of someone buying and using a $1200 item when you can go park at Stop&Shop and bang your truck door against someone's $90K Benz any day of the week. People's perception of $ is very funny to me.

During the week, or at shows on the weekend, I carry "company knives", but on my own time, I've been know to carry, and use, custom knives in that price range. R&D is a never ending task:p

A knife collector does not think that is wierd, but thinks a 50,000 dollar painting
IS wierd. Now, the owner of that painting may say that a 1200 dollar knife is ridiculous, and when asked about his 50 k painting he says "thats normal artwork"...can't a knife knut have a "normal artistic knife"???

Many times.:) :) :)
Used to shoot a $20,000.00 shotgun every Wed. at my skeet range. That was 30 years ago.Happy:)

I've got maybe five or so knives worth that, but they rest comfortably behind glass. The small Sebenza is honestly as expensive a knife as I can personally justify carrying and using everyday. I tend to be rough on stuff, and can't see banging up my CQC6 or Terzoula Mokume/Damascus. I'd have to throw myself down a flight of stairs if I mislaid a knife of that worth!

:D

What made the shotgun so valuable? (I'm not into guns, cause of my age, so I don't know a lot about them)

I carry an Ed Fowler Pronghorn that was priced at exactly $1200.00. I also don't consider myself to be stupid. :p There may be some out there that would beg to differ, but I love this knife. I have ordered another knife from Ed and it will probably cost me just about as much even though it is a smaller knife. I am not a rich person, I just believe in buying what I want. Even if I can only afford one knife every year or so. To each his own I guess. There are some great $100.00 knives out there, they are just not for me. Actually that is not quite true. I do own a Buck 110 and a couple of slipjoints that cost under a hundred bucks. I like them very much.
